Putin said that this will not happen, because the head of state, according to the amendments, "gives up some of the very significant powers".

“If today <...> the president himself approves the chairman of the government with the consent of the State Duma, and then, without any consent of the country's parliament, he actually appoints ministers, the situation changes dramatically - now the final decision on the chairman of the government is made by the parliament itself, just like on ministers”, - RIA Novosti quoted Putin as saying.

He noted that in the proposed version of the amendments, the president cannot reject them. According to him, a significant part of the powers of the head of state is transferred to parliament.

Putin added that criticism of the proposed amendments to the Constitution by the Communist Party looks "strange", since the dictatorship is just typical of communist regimes.

The all-Russian vote on constitutional amendments is scheduled for July 1.

On the eve of Putin, he expressed confidence that most Russian citizens share and support the position on the need to amend the Russian Constitution.
