The proposal for a change to the Law on employment protection (las), which was presented a couple of weeks ago, receives harsh criticism from the prime minister. The proposal, which includes, among other things, an increase in employers' exemptions to the turnaround rules from two to five employees, is not what was agreed in the January agreement.

- The Investigation Directives clearly stated that the balance between the parties should be maintained. I think the investigation's proposal does not keep the balance, says Löfven.

Löfven adds that if the investigation's proposal became a reality, it would lead to "arbitrary redundancies" and to "damage the Swedish model".

Confident in agreement

According to the January agreement, the study's proposal should only be relevant if the social partners themselves do not agree to change the rules of turnover. Stefan Löfven is confident that the parties, which will start negotiations this fall, will reach an agreement, so the investigation proposal will never be actualized. He also says that he has no plans to break or negotiate the Janauri agreement.

- Pacta healthy servanda - agreement is there to be kept, he says.
