The death of an unarmed black man was shot in a police shooting while the death of George Floyd, a black male victim of white police violence, shook across the United States.

According to the Associated Press and CNN broadcasts on the 13th of the local time, black man Rayshard Brooks died of a gun shot by a policeman yesterday (12th) in Atlanta, Georgia, fighting a police arrest.

The incident happened last night in front of the fast food restaurant Wendy's.

The Atlanta police reported on the road that Wendy's drive-through passage was blocking a vehicle and went to the scene.

Brooks was asleep in the car, and the police woke Brooks to drink tests at the scene.

The police tried to arrest Brooks when he failed the alcohol test.

However, Brooks resisted and fought with police officers, and was shot by a police officer and taken to hospital, but eventually died.

Witnesses on the scene at the time of the incident took a video and shared it on social media.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) issued a statement and said, "I was asked by the Atlanta police to investigate the death."

The Georgia National Branch of the National Association for the Promotion of the Colored Peoples issued a statement and urged the immediate release of the Atlanta Police Commissioner.

In front of the Wendy's store where Brooks was shot, about 150 protesters gathered yesterday to demand a thorough investigation.

"Why did Brooks, who fell asleep in the car and didn't do anything to be shot by the police," said Gerald Griggs. "The police could have used non-lethal weapons to arrest Brooks."

In response, the Atlanta police said they attempted to defeat Brooks by firing a Tasers gun at the time of the incident, but Brooks said he had beaten the Tasers of the police and resisted.

In a statement, Fulton County prosecutor Paul Howard said in a statement, apart from the Georgia Bureau, launched a "strong and independent investigation" of the case.
