Turkey's Ministry of Interior said three people were injured in a 14-day quake-breaking earthquake in Binh Province, eastern Turkey.

Reuters quoted Turkey's Interior Minister Suleiman Soilu today as saying the injuries occurred as a result of the collapse of the military surveillance post.

One correspondent was buried in the remains of a collapsed facility, and the other two were injured, the agency added.

Turkey's Emergency Crisis Management Agency (AFAD) explained that the epicenter is in the region of Karlioba, Bingol Province.

The Xinhua News Agency also quoted the US Geological Survey (USGS) as saying that an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred 15km east of Yedisu, a city of Bingol Province at 4:24 pm.
