The mother of a 16-year-old boy reported on social media that her son was pointed at by a soldier with his gun during maneuvers carried out days ago in the urban area of the Huesca town of Jaca.

The boy was returning home at night, around 10:30 p.m., when going up "some community stairs" he found five soldiers who were maneuvering and, supposedly, one of them had come to point the gun at him.

For this reason, the mother wrote indignantly on social networks: "One of the soldiers pointing the gun at my son. Incredible!"

The next day, the woman published another message informing that she had received the call from the colonel chief of the Galicia 64 Regiment, based in Jaca, and from the patrol leader apologizing and that they had accepted them.

The Army, which this Saturday has confirmed the facts, attributes what happened to "an error", due to the lack of seniority of the soldier.

The mother has considered the incident "settled", although she has stated: "It does not seem normal to me that they carry out maneuvers in the urban area of Jaca, at night, and above all, the military officer has never lowered his weapon at any time."

The events occurred in the transfer of the troops from the San Bernardo barracks to the mountain area where the maneuvers were to be carried out.

According to what they have indicated this Saturday since said barracks, the soldiers have to be armed, but the instruction is that they must keep the weapon hanging and never in the firing position.

Apparently, in the reported case it was not so, reason for which they have apologized. They argue that they were "newly recruited soldiers . Any more veteran would never have done so," as Radio Huesca broadcast on Saturday.

This incident, although less serious, has undoubtedly reminded another of 1984 in Abena, a district of Jaca.

In the framework of some maneuvers, a Special Operations Company (COE) of the Spanish Army entered the town and, by means of a side, gathered the neighbors in the plaza.

Then they removed the mayor and a neighbor from the group and, with blank bullets, proceeded to "shoot" them by "collaborators" with the supposed enemy in the tactical exercise.

On that occasion, those who were in charge of the company also apologized to the Abena neighborhood, but the case reached the military courts and those responsible were convicted.

The action deserved the rejection of the Aragonese Government and the Cortes de Aragón and even the then Defense Minister, Narcís Serra.

If it had not been because Radio Jaca, which suffered a selective assault on its facilities, spread the news nationwide, the "Abena executions" would have gone unnoticed.
