In October last year, it was clear that Mjällby AIF managed to get back to all Swedes. But as the April premiere approached, the coronavirus outbreak stopped the start.

At the end of May, however, the message came that allsvenskan can start and on Monday Mjällby will play their first match against Malmö FF - but without the audience. The fact that Strandvallen's upcoming matches will not be filled with spectators is something that strikes hard economically.

- We expected the premiere and several other matches to be sold out. But when we do not now get 6,000 spectators here but it becomes zero instead, it is clear that it affects, says Fredrik Danielsson, club manager Mjällby AIF.

Measures taken against the spread of infection

Despite the difficult economic situation, Mjällby AIF expects to pass an entire season in all Sweden without an audience.

- If it becomes without the audience for the rest of the season we can manage it, but that does not mean that we do not lose money. We lose millions of dollars for not having people at our matches. So it's a tough situation but we survive, says Fredrik Danielsson.

In addition to the matches being crowd-free, the club has also had to take several measures to reduce the risk of spreading the corona virus when all Swedes now start.

- Much is about how we handle the premises we are in with cleaning both before and after the matches. All personnel who come here are tested and no one comes into the arena who has symptoms. There are many parts that contribute to this safe start of the Allsvenskan, says Fredrik Danielsson.
