Today, Saturday, the Iraqi "Hezbollah" Brigades renewed their threat to target American forces inside Iraqi territory if they do not withdraw from the country, while a missile targeted a military base that includes American soldiers near the capital Baghdad.

The battalions said in a statement that "the United States did not initiate the so-called strategic dialogue (which took place on Thursday) only after realizing that its presence is no longer welcome in Iraq, especially after the decision of the House of Representatives (parliament) that obligated the government to remove foreign forces from the country." .

She added that "the Iraqis were waiting for those concerned to implement the decision to evacuate the forces during a specific period, and they did not expect to submit to the wishes of the American administration to conduct the dialogue in accordance with the timing, mechanisms and conditions set and imposed under the impact of the threat.

The statement continued by saying that "the State of America is known for its violation of treaties and charters, and it is not totally trustworthy, and therefore it must be well aware that if it tries to circumvent the decision of the Iraqi parliament, this will cost it a lot."

Missile attack

On January 5, the Iraqi parliament voted on a resolution requiring Baghdad to work to remove foreign forces from the country.

The decision came two days after Washington assassinated the commander of the Iranian "Quds Force" Qassem Soleimani and the leader of the Iraqi "Popular Mobilization" Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis in an air strike near Baghdad airport.

In the same context, an Iraqi security source said today, Saturday, that a missile attack targeted a military base that includes American soldiers near the capital, Baghdad.

The source said, on the condition of anonymity that "a missile targeted by a Katyusha type landed this evening near the Taji military base north of Baghdad," without revealing the party that launched it.

The source added that "preliminary information indicates that no human or material damages were recorded in the attack."

The base, north of Baghdad, includes US soldiers and others from the international coalition.
