On national highway 50 between Söderhamn and the county border to Dalarna, the Swedish Transport Administration wants to reduce the speed from 90 kilometers per hour to 80. The same goes for E4 in Nordanstig, between Vattrång and Gnarp.
According to the Swedish Transport Administration, the speed is lowered where roads do not have center separation. 80 kilometers per hour is the maximum speed level at which two passenger cars of the highest safety standard can withstand a collision without too serious consequences, the authority states.
The proposed speed reductions have been referred to the relevant municipalities.
