In late March, the ban on congestion was introduced in taverns, and the country's municipalities have been fully engaged in conducting inspections of restaurants, cafes and bars ever since.

In Stockholm, city inspectors have visited 716 taverns, of which 213 received comments. Of these, 14 have been forced to close - but now reopened.

- In May, there were a lot of remarks, more than it should have been, but now it has started to decline. It may be too early to say, but I think it is starting to go in the right direction, says Peter Brådenmark, Head of Unit at the Environmental Management in Stockholm.

However, the warm weather attracted many Stockholmers on the town on Friday evening. Of 22 inspected taverns, seven received comments.

- It's a third after all, so it's not entirely successful. There were a lot of people out there, but they were moving around, not everyone sitting at restaurants and bars.

"Not only the crowds' responsibility"

Many times, the comments are about the tables standing too tight, or there being a lot of people hanging out at the bar waiting for food or drink. But Peter Bradenmark feels that most pub owners want to do the right thing.

- There are always sloppy pellets. But it's not just the pub's responsibility, you and I actually have the same responsibility.

Now the City of Stockholm is preparing for the football season to start, which is expected to lead to congestion at sports bars and pubs.

- There I know from my own experience that there are a lot of people even in ordinary cases, and now you can not see the matches live. I hope they take their responsibility and do not let in too many people.

Three pubs were closed in Gothenburg

In Gothenburg, the municipality has also conducted a large number of inspections, a total of 449 visits. Of these, 118 led to remarks and three taverns were forced to close. However, they have reopened.

- Every four visits will be a note. If we see something that is very serious, we pass it on directly to infectious doctors, says Peter Löwendahl, press contact at the environmental administration.

A cafe was closed in Malmö

Inspections have also been numerous in Malmö. Until June 5, around 290 inspections have been done at the city's restaurants, cafes and outdoor restaurants. These have resulted in 40 remarks and the closure of a café.
