Alexander Bard leaves the Liberals after a storm of criticism

On Twitter, he writes, among other things, that black people should grab their lives and stop living on grants. His words have been met by a storm of criticism in social media and a name gathering that requires TV4 to end its collaborations with him has so far collected over 20,000 signatures.

According to Sweden's Radio Ekot, during the day he had a conversation with the party which led to him choosing to leave the Liberals.

To Aftonbladet he says he does not want to discuss his comments.

- That's it. Tonality and etiquette are caring, this is what others can discuss. I discuss reality, he says, adding that he wants to highlight a Belgian black woman who agrees with him in his views, Alexander Bard tells the magazine.

TV4 writes in a text message to TT that the channel is not responsible for the private opinions of profiles.

“Alexander Bard expresses his own private opinions on his social platforms and must be responsible for them himself. It is not a question for TV4 to answer. On the other hand, we take responsibility for the programs we broadcast, ”writes Chief Communications Officer Charlie Forsberg.
