The Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, revealed that the Authority is moving to focus on the Emiratization policy of companies operating in the telecommunications sector by requiring each company to develop and formulate an internal policy for localizing jobs with them, stressing that the annual reward for the executive heads of these companies should be linked to the application of policies Localization.
This came during Mansouri's responses to the interventions and inquiries of the members of the Federal National Council in the session held by the Council "remotely" the day before yesterday, headed by the President of the Council, Saqr Ghobash, to discuss a general topic regarding services provided by telecommunications companies.
Al-Mansouri stressed that the authority has an advanced infrastructure that allows it to face global challenges in the telecommunications sector, especially that it has 20 million subscribers, pointing out that the authority sets clear and strict policies regarding receiving complaints in this sector, and deals with them quickly in response, and develop solutions to most problems.
Al-Mansouri said during the Federal National Council session that was held last Wednesday to discuss a general topic in the services provided by telecommunications companies: «There are mandatory initiatives in relation to complaints, and in the event of decisions issued, we study their effects and consult about them with the operators, and always strive to develop, and that the operations be studied» Stressing the commitment of the operating companies to implement all laws and recommendations issued by the state and decisions issued by the authority.
Al-Mansouri discussed during the session that witnessed 28 interventions from members of the Council to the files of resettlement and training and qualification of young citizens for the labor market, pointing out that the General Authority for Regulating the Communications Sector has the Communications Sector Fund for Education, Research and Entrepreneurship, which launched many community initiatives, the most important of which is the "Mission" program for learning Either inside or outside the country, and who accepts everyone who applies to join it.
He said: “Every citizen who applies to the authority to provide him with support in the education process, and everyone who applies to the fund gets a mission unless the conditions do not apply to him.” Noting that the authority organizes awareness campaigns and continues with universities, while the fund handles monthly salaries for students Beneficiaries of his training and qualification initiatives, up to five thousand dirhams per student.
Al-Mansouri added: “The Emiratization file is one of the most important files for the authority, although the telecommunications sector is one of the most important sectors of the state in Emiratization rates, where last year we identified vital jobs in this sector, and we are working to provide tributaries in this sector of citizens, where we will focus on The Emiratization policy of the operating companies, and we will ask each company to develop and formulate an internal policy for its Emiratization of jobs, and the annual reward of the CEO must be linked to the application of these policies.
Al-Mansouri stressed that coordination is being done in the file of employment of citizens in this sector with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, where a system has been put in place to submit job applications, indicating that there is also coordination with the Ministry of Community Development to employ the cases nominated by the ministry. He said: «Most of the numbers that have been provided with us have been appointed, and we are ready to assign any new applications, expressing his hope to raise the percentage of Emiratisation».
