• José Manuel Franco. The judge files the 8-M case against the government delegate amid reproaches for not having acted against Covid-19

Not even a minister as cautious as Salvador Illa has been able today to avoid showing the satisfaction of the Government for the archive of the cause of 8-M. The head of Health has appeared at noon in La Moncloa with the director of the Center for Coordination of Health Alerts and Emergencies , Fernando Simón, to report on the phase changes of each community in this period of de-escalation and, despite previously pointing out that the Executive "does not value judicial decisions", Illa did want to transmit just this Friday, when the judge's decision was known not to continue with the investigation into the authorized protests in Madridin the heat of expansion of the virus, that "the Government has given everything, what we had and what we did not have, to defeat the virus".

For this reason, Illa has added, "we are where we are", in reference to the containment of contagions by coronavirus and the decrease in deaths and "we are leaving now", alluding to the end of the de-escalation phase, which formally ends the next June 21 with the entry of all of Spain in the call for New Normality. And for this reason, the minister insisted, Galicia can enter this phase of coexistence with the virus next Monday.

According to the last decree of state of alarm, in force until the 21st, the communities that are already in Phase 3, as is the case of Galicia, can choose at any time, if the autonomous presidents so decide, to advance to New Normal.

Despite the fact that several questions have been asked about the 8-M, and specifically if the Government, with this decision, has severed the judicial path against its management, Illa did not want to make further evaluations. It has simply repeated the message that the Executive "has given everything."

Although the case file has not surprised the Executive - as requested by both the Prosecutor's Office and the State Attorney's Office - the Government revealed a certain nervousness through the Interior Minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, who dismissed the Colonel of the Civil Guard, Diego López de los Cobos, for failing to report on the report prepared under his command as judicial aid.
