It was at half past ten that the police received an alarm that a woman should have been subjected to some form of violence in a residence in Orrefors.
When the police arrived at the scene, they were able to arrest a man who should not be unknown to the woman. The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance where she is now being cared for for her injuries.
- The nature of the injuries and circumstances means that we have chosen to label the event as an attempted murder. I can't say more about the case because there is preliminary investigation confidentiality, says police spokeswoman Katarina Rusin, Region South.
The man is suspected of attempted murder and the police have blocked off the site of a technical investigation.
