Sony continues to distill information on its new PlayStation 5 console, the launch of which is expected by the end of the year, without knowing for what date or at what price.

After passing the trailers of around 25 games designed especially for the new console, the Japanese giant showed for the first time the PS5, all in white and black curves.

Players will also be able to invest in headphones with 3D audio or in a camera that allows them to film themselves while playing (to broadcast live on the appropriate platforms).

The marketing event was broadcast live online Thursday due to a pandemic.

It had been postponed for a week so as not to distract public attention from the anti-racism protests in full swing in the United States.

PlayStation opened its presentation on the highly anticipated "Grand Theft Auto 5", which is due out in the second half of 2021. The franchise has sold 130 million copies so far.

The new console will also make it possible to reconnect with the Gran Turismo franchise, in its 7th edition, as well as Horizon ("Horizon II, Forbidden West").

For superhero fans, "Marvel's Spider-Man Miles Morales" is due out during the holiday season.

Between the end of 2020 and 2021, players will be spoiled for choice, whether they want to save the world, win car races or exterminate monsters.

PlayStation has promised shooting games ("Deathloop"), sports simulation ("NBA 2K21"), science fiction adventures, with more true-to-life heroes, often female, or totally fanciful, especially in games intended for children, without forgetting cats ("Stray").

The release of new consoles from Sony and Microsoft is eagerly awaited by fans, the previous generation dating from 2013 (PS4 and XBox One).

In early May, Microsoft also unveiled new video games for the future Xbox Series X, with new versions of Assasin's Creed, French Ubisoft, and Madden, the series of electronic football simulation games of Electronic Arts.

Nintendo, for its part, sold its Switch like hotcakes in favor of "Large containment".

In the United States, the video game market also broke new records in April, all brands combined.
