A (Gulf) girl was surprised by the change of her fiancé after the marriage contract, and his attempt to prevent her from practicing her hobby by riding horses, so she resorted to the Sharia Court in Fujairah, demanding the annulment of the marriage contract because she cannot live without riding horses, and that she prefers horses to her husband, and the husband (Khaleeji) approved By requiring her to give up the horse because of his jealousy over her, the court ruled to divorce the spouses, and obliged the man to pay 30,000 dirhams in arrears to her while not obligating her to return 130,000 dirhams, which the husband paid during the marriage contract to supply the bride.
When the court asked the girl about her motives that made her decide to end their marriage so quickly after the marriage took place a few months ago, she said: “My husband deceived me,” explaining that she had met him in one of the stables for horses and that he knew how much she loved the horse and attached it to it, and after the marriage contract he asked her Not going to the stable or attachment to the horse that you used to raise since she was a child.
"I did not know his intention, so my love for the horse does not compare with his love, and his prevention of me now from my hobby makes him a domineering man and I cannot bear to live this way."
For his part, the husband acknowledged that he prevented her from riding the horse for his own reasons related to jealousy over her and his desire that his wife not ride horses and go to the stables on a daily or even weekly basis, asking the court to return the sums he spent on her from the bride’s apparatus “Zahba”, which amounted to 110 thousand dirhams And 20 thousand dirhams dowry.
When the woman faced the court to return the husband, she refused to return the sums he gave, on the pretext that she had gone out with him and offered him precious gifts.
The court issued a ruling ordering her to divorce her without returning any amount paid to her and giving her back 30,000 dirhams.
