• Complaint: The Police, overwhelmed by the new Casa de Campo 'ore' center

Three out of every four minors detained in Madrid are unaccompanied foreigners, as reported by the Unified Police Union (SUP) this Friday, which has ensured that the increase in crime in the capital is led by the so-called 'menas' .

The union has issued a note with these data after the events that occurred recently in the Casa de Campo in Madrid , where several of these young people have produced robberies and violent assaults on neighbors , "generating social alarm among citizens about the situation of these minors "

SUP Madrid wanted to make it clear that this is not "a problem of racism" and that the National Police "does its job" arresting "those who commit criminal offenses, regardless of whether they are of legal age, foreign or Spanish." Likewise, it has again denounced the volume of police work that these detections represent as the budget has not been increased to attend to the exponential arrival of these minors throughout the Spanish territory.

"Of course, not all the ores that are in our country commit crimes," said the union, which has put between 15% and 20% who commits repeated crimes . "The criminal reproach is testimonial and that encourages recidivism," he assured. A situation that "worsens", he added, when they turn 18, because being longer on the street and without public protection, there is "further uprooting and increased opportunities to commit crimes."

The statistical data cited comes from the Group of Minors (GRUME) of the Provincial Judicial Police Brigade of the Superior Headquarters of Madrid, which is in charge of processing reports with detained minors, regardless of their nationality.

As reported by the union, the crimes that they commit the most are robbery with violence and intimidation (jerks, the 'mata león' technique or robberies with a white weapon, among others) and, to a lesser extent, robberies inside vehicles, injuries including and assaults on educators.

More patrols to guarantee the tranquility of the neighbors

The mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, has indicated that the City Council, through the Municipal Police, "will put all the means to guarantee the tranquility of the neighbors" and "will reinforce" the patrols in the areas of Batán, Casa de Campo and Alto de Extremadura where, in recent days, according to ABC reports, there have been robberies and violent assaults by a small group of ores on residents of the area.

The alderman has indicated that it is "actions that undermine and disturb" the citizens of this area of the city and, therefore, regardless of municipal reinforcement, the corporation will contact the Government Delegation and the National Police as " Competent bodies in this matter "to request" your help "in the environment of the former Richard Schirrmann youth hostel, which since the beginning of 2019 acts as a resource for these minors.

In this way, Almeida understands, "an image of conflict that may give rise to other images that are not justified from the point of view of immigration is avoided" and, therefore, has also asked the Community of Madrid to "adopt the appropriate measures " to" stop these situations taking into account what is the regime that the ores have ".
