On the Burkinabe side, anti-terrorist forces are still there, in the forest, looking for these groups of armed men who carried out the assault on an Ivorian army base . This hunt, according to a high ranking member of the armed forces, had started long before the joint operation. Our special forces are still in operation there  ," said the source.

Objective: to find and dismantle the various bases of the armed terrorist groups installed in these forests. According to our sources, these armed men had set up several bases in these forests, on both sides of the border.

Following the "Comoé" operation , these armed men scattered in the forest on both sides of the border. These armed groups have a vast network of informants in these different parts of the forest they occupy, some sources estimate.

Even if we were able to neutralize some of them during Operation Comoé, these men are still active in the region,  " said another security source. According to researcher Mahamoudou Sawadogo, this hunt will be very difficult without the participation of Ghana, which shares part of this forest area with Burkina Faso and Côte d'Ivoire.
