A detainee was found dead at the prison in Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), learned 20 Minutes from David Cavaillé, the public prosecutor of Perpignan.

The man, in his sixties, was reportedly found lifeless in his cell by supervisors.

An autopsy

According to the representative of the prosecution, the body had sores. An autopsy was conducted to try to determine the causes of the death of this detainee.

The victim's co-detainee, a man in his thirties, was taken into police custody to be heard. An investigation has been opened.
