It is the State Geological Survey, SGU, that presented what the groundwater levels look like at the end of May-June. When it comes to groundwater levels in small reservoirs, levels are well below normal on Gotland.

In Östergötland, the groundwater levels in the small reservoirs are below normal. According to SGU, levels have continued to fall in southern Sweden since mid-May. Growth and rising temperatures should be the reason for reduced opportunities for groundwater formation.

Can be strained

Depending on the weather, the situation may be strained according to SGU. Individual well-owners in low-level areas, especially those in areas that often suffer from water shortages, should stay informed about the development and pay attention to their water supply.

When it comes to groundwater levels in large reservoirs, it is also below normal, both in Östergötland and Gotland.

In Gotland, there has been a ban on irrigation in certain parts since April 1. More about that in the clip below.
