On September 22, the entire entrance to a seven-storey house in Angered in northeast Gothenburg was destroyed when a bomb of about three kilos of dynamite detonated. Better nobody was injured. The police soon realized that the explosion was due to a conflict between various serious criminal persons in Gothenburg.

Another bomb

A little over a month later, in the early morning of November 1, a bomb of about five kilograms of dynamite was detonated in a parking lot in Landvetter east of Gothenburg. The bomb had been placed under a car, which by the force of the explosion flew into the air and landed completely destroyed on the roof.

- Our colleagues in the local police area are quick on their feet and take the right initial measures, such as testimony and door knocking. The prosecutor is here. That everyone knows what to do and is on their toes is a success factor. Thanks to good work from colleagues, the right witnesses are captured and already on the same day we arrest one of the now prosecuted persons, says Kajsa Beckman on serious crimes by the police in the West region in a press release.

Left the country

The ongoing investigation led to three men being prosecuted at the Gothenburg District Court today, suspected of, among other things, serious general malicious destruction in two cases and attempted murder. There are two more suspects, but these had left the country.

The investigation was carried out in the context of the national special event Rimfrost. Two of the defendants could be arrested in Lund, and attacks have also taken place at different addresses in Norrköping and Åstorp.

- This is an example of good investigative work on all levels. Through Rimfrost, we have also been able to gather resources and carry out efforts in different parts of the country in an efficient and powerful way, says Tobias Bergkvist, commander of Rimfrost in the West region, in the press release.
