• Investigation. The judge asks Ayuso and Almeida for data on the massive events authorized before 8-M
  • Statement.José Manuel Franco, before the judge: "My doctor daughter and I went to 8-M"

Parade of fifteen witnesses before the judge investigating the criminal scope of the 8-M demonstration during the spread of the coronavirus . The head of the 51st Instruction Court of Madrid, Judge Carmen Rodríguez-Medel, has taken this Thursday morning a statement to five workers from the Government Delegation and three convenors of demonstrations in dates close to the celebration of the massive march of the Women's Day. In the afternoon, it is the turn for seven other promoters of demonstrations.

Among the witnesses who have appeared in the courts of Plaza de Castilla (Madrid) is the head of the Department of Labor Risks Department of the Government Delegation in Madrid, who has ratified his statement before the Civil Guard, in which he assured that the 8-M protests should never have taken place.

However, according to legal sources, the worker Ramez Muhzrram Rey has clarified this Thursday in court that, although he believes that, knowing what he knows now, that this demonstration "should not have taken place" is not an expert in "virology" but a pharmacist. Muhzrram Rey was the person in charge of drawing up a protocol for the employees of the Executive's delegated body with some measures and recommendations regarding the social distance and hygiene that the staff should maintain in front of Covid-19.

The witness, who forwarded this action protocol to the staff on March 2, has emphasized that at no time did he recommend to the Government Delegation to prohibit the March 8 demonstration for health reasons.

In general lines, all the witnesses are ratifying the content of their statements before the Civil Guard although, for example, the president of the Association of Fit People without Rental Assistance, Diana Chnaiker, has explained to the instructor that she believes that the agents did in the attestation a "misinterpretation" of his statement "due to spelling and punctuation" in the transcript. "According to what was understood in the report, I had canceled the protest by a call, but it was not so," said the witness. Likewise, another Citizen Security official has also pointed out to the judge that there are "inaccuracies" in the Civil Guard report about his words.

On the other hand, the president of APAG Extremadura ASAJA, Juan Metidieri Izquierdo, has related how, from the Government Delegation, the lawyer for his organization was called days after March 8 to urge him to revoke the tract that they had organized from Extremadura to last Madrid for health reasons.

The version that José Manuel Franco maintained yesterday before the magistrate was based on defending that, in addition to the fact that the Government Delegation does not have powers in health matters, they perceived the risk posed by the coronavirus as of March 11. Hence, all calls made to promoters to call off massive events were made after 8-M. Today's testimonies confirm that point.
