The Agha is one of the youth models joining field volunteering in the "Emirates Volunteer" campaign, which brought together 132 nationalities under its umbrella who volunteered to support the state's efforts in combating the "Covid 19" virus.

The Aga (Jordanian - 21 years old) spoke enthusiastically describing her feeling of happiness when helping patients, responding to the call of the Emirates, stressing that her service is a duty for her to return part of her goodness to her, and to express her great love for her, especially that she was born in it, and learned in her schools, until she reached the university .

She added to «Emirates Today» that her humanitarian profession as a future doctor necessitates serving and treating patients without fatigue, anxiety or fear, confirming that the happiness that she sees in the eyes of those who recover from the virus when they leave the hospital is not equivalent to another feeling.

She explained that she worked in several locations since she volunteered with the Red Crescent Authority and the platforms of "Emirates volunteer", which included preventive medicine in Ajman, Al Qasimi Hospital in Sharjah, the field hospital in Sharjah, Rashid Hospital and Latifa Hospital in Dubai, and participation with the medical teams responsible for following up the detainees from Patients in a number of hotels.

The Aga stated that she had been trained since the early days on how to take a sample to examine the virus accurately, and she was able to do so by virtue of studying and specializing in medicine, pointing out that she worked in Corona testing centers that work 24 hours a day to cover the largest number of tests, as she worked in Record the results of patient examinations and inform them, and follow up on the injured, whether during hospital treatment, during isolation in hotels, or during home quarantine.

She added that the follow-up to the treatment of patients is not limited to monitoring their physiological condition, but also includes psychological and psychological support as well, because this is one of the reasons for recovery and the deterioration of the patient's health condition.

The Aga said that her mother encouraged her and pushed her to volunteer work since she was 15 years old, so she made sure to encourage her younger siblings to volunteer in the campaign, until they accompanied her during her work at Al Qasimi Hospital in following up on outpatients who are prohibited from entering the hospital, for fear of transmission to them, Where they are listened to about the medical condition they suffer in the reception area, to present them to the doctors working in the hospital departments, and then return to them with the result that sometimes is limited to the necessity of taking a specific drug, which is provided to the patient from the hospital pharmacy, according to the prescription of the specialist doctor.

She stressed that she is continuing her volunteer work in the first line of defense, and will not stop serving the community no matter how long the disease is contained.

Regarding the most difficult humanitarian situations that she went through during her work in the fight against "Corona", Al-Agha said that there are many difficult situations that she went through, but that it is most severe when facing the families of the deceased, witnessing moments of informing them and their reaction, and when you have to prevent the family of the deceased patient From entering his room.

She pointed out that those harsh positions did not weaken her or undermine her resolve, but rather increased her strength and certainty that a person should increase his adherence to his faith and certainty, whatever the difficulties.

Face difficult situations

The medical college student, volunteer Israa Aga, said that the most important thing she learned during her first-line experience was how to face difficult situations.

And she added that «the invasion of the Corona virus, the human life in such a sudden manner, proved by practical proof that everything in this life can be reversed in a moment, changing our conditions and circumstances completely differently, and we must be prepared for all circumstances.

She explained that "what happened should establish our need to always direct our energies and interests to the benefit of man and humanity, and that this is a lesson that should be used by people who are careless and not serious in life."

Supporting national efforts

The national campaign "UAE Volunteer" witnessed a great turnout by citizens and residents alike. The number of volunteers enrolled in the campaign during the first month of its launch reached 18,740 volunteers, belonging to 132 nationalities.
