The man in his thirties, who had filmed a police officer from the Nice anti-crime brigade, was tried in early June. He was found guilty of having unwittingly filmed the video of a policewoman at the gym on social media.

For violating the privacy and tranquility of others, he was given six months suspended probation for two years. He will also have to compensate the victim up to 1,000 euros in damages and 800 euros in legal fees with a ban on returning to this sports hall.

"I wanted to make myself interesting"

The facts go back to last November. A police officer in the anti-crime brigade learns from her colleagues that a video of her, in the middle of an arrest, had been published on Snapchat, with offensive comments. And while she is training at the gym, the agent is also filmed. She decides to file a complaint. Then, she goes to the gym in question and succeeds in locating the individual who films her thanks to the video surveillance cameras.

If at first the man in his thirties denies the facts, he then recognizes them, explaining that he wanted to "make himself interesting".

Tried in early June, he was sentenced to six months suspended probationary prison for two years and must compensate his victim while being prohibited from returning to the gym where he committed the acts.
