It could have turned into a drama. This Wednesday evening, a neighborhood conflict left seven injured in the small town of Églisottes-et-Chalaures near Libourne in Gironde. According to the mayor's explanations collected by Sud Ouest, the dispute even turned into a riot with "150 to 200 people" present on the scene.

Shots were fired by one of the protagonists. A woman in her 40s was seriously injured in the chest and a total of five people ended the evening in the hospital.

The alleged shooter arrested

The reason for this riot remains unclear. A man allegedly quarreled with his neighbors who were celebrating a birthday. Her father, also a resident of the neighborhood, allegedly fired a pellet rifle at the people present at the party and their relatives who came to the rescue. It took the intervention of rescue workers but above all of fifty gendarmes to restore calm. The alleged shooter was placed in police custody, the regional daily said.
