Operation "Anger Volcano" announced the control of the Al-Wefaq government forces on a major supply line along a length of 350 km, between southern and western Libya, while the United Nations called for a speedy and transparent investigation into the discovery of eight mass graves, most of them in Tarhuna, southeast of Tripoli.

According to the Operation Volcano Anger, this line was used by the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar for a year, as a major supply line to support its attack on the capital Tripoli with mercenaries, weapons, ammunition, and fuel.

This line extends from the Arban region, south of Tripoli, to the Shweref area, which links Tripoli to the city of Sebha in the south of Libya.

In a related development, Al-Jazeera correspondent quoted a military source in Al-Wefaq government forces as saying that Al-Wefaq forces have repositioned them along the frontline in the axes of Al-Nahr Road and Al-Bahar Road west of Sirte.

The source added that the confrontation fronts with Haftar forces are witnessing a cautious calm, and that reinforcements for the forces of the Al-Wefaq government have arrived to support the central military region.

This comes in conjunction with a meeting held by the President of the Presidential Council of the National Accord Government, Fayez al-Sarraj, and in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Al-Wefaq Army, with his deputy Ahmed Motaik, the Minister of Interior Fathi Pashaga, the commanders of the western military regions, Tripoli, and the Central, and the commander of the Sirte-Jafra operations room.

A statement of Operation Berkane Fury said that the OS meeting discussed the progress of the military operations and the measures taken to protect civilians and private and public facilities. He also discussed a review of the overall situation in the liberated areas and cities and the security arrangements adopted therein.

This is the second high-level military meeting Al-Sarraj will hold in a week with the military leaders, as he held a meeting on Saturday to discuss developments in the field situation, after successive victories over the militia of Haftar.

The Al-Wefaq forces had recently managed to completely control the capital, Tripoli, from Haftar’s forces, and then Tarhuna and Bani Walid (180 km southeast of Tripoli).

On Saturday, Al-Wefaq forces announced the launch of Operation "Paths of Victory", to control the cities and towns of eastern and central Libya, led by Sirte, the coastal city and Jafra.

Mass graves

On the other hand, Operation Volcano Anger on its Facebook page announced the finding of a new cemetery that housed the remains of three people at the headquarters of the General Security Central Administration in Tarhuna, which was headed by one of the forces of Haftar, named Salem Al-Saket.

According to the information bureau of the Operation Volcano of Rage, several bodies were recovered and were found handcuffed.

Yesterday, the office released photos of the search, indicating that the body of a 12-year-old girl, handcuffed, was also recovered.

In the context, the Libyan National Authority for the Identification of Missing Persons announced the finding of 15 bodies out of a hundred that had been reported, as bodies were recovered from mass graves in Tarhuna city.

A local source in Tarhuna city told Al-Jazeera correspondent in Libya that the dead were mostly from the city's residents opposed to the war on Tripoli.

The source explained that the militia of Muhammad al-Kani - one of the leaders of the retired Major General Khalifa Haftar in Tarhuna - abandoned and demolished the homes of a number of the city's residents.

The Operation Volcano Anger showed yesterday a video clip showing a group of burned and placed bodies inside an iron container surrounded by blood in the Qasr Bin Ghashir area that was controlled by Haftar forces, in addition to pictures showing the removal of five decomposing bodies from a water well in the "Awata" area between Tarhuna and Thursday Thursday, the market .

After entering the city of Tarhuna, the anger volcano operation exposed the sections of more than a hundred bodies found in the city hospital, in addition to a body that was dumped in a ground water tank, and another decomposed one was found inside a car in the Sa`diyeh area south of Tripoli.

For its part, the UN mission in Libya called on Thursday for a speedy and transparent investigation into the discovery of eight mass graves, most of them in Tarhuna, southeast of Tripoli.

"According to international law, the Libyan authorities must conduct a prompt, transparent and effective investigation of reports of extrajudicial killings," the mission said in a statement.

The mission welcomed the decision of the Libyan Minister of Justice, Mohamed Abdel Wahed Lamloum, to establish an investigation committee on these graves. The UN mission confirmed its readiness to provide the required support if necessary.

On the other hand, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Government in the Al-Wefaq government, Abdul-Bari Shanbaru, said that the number of families displaced as a result of clashes south of the capital, Tripoli, is approximately 85,000 families.

Operation "Irini"

On the other hand, European Union foreign relations spokesman Peter Senano said that the "IRINI" operation that started last month off the Libyan coast was able to stop and search 75 ships, especially those that smuggle oil or weapons.

In the context, the spokesman said that the European Bloc operation to monitor the arms embargo imposed on Libya was prevented from carrying out its work this week.

He explained that the Greek forces were prevented from searching a cargo ship that was en route to Libya. It was not yet clear what the ship was carrying on board.
