In Mali, Imam Mahmoud Dicko speaks after his last big rally organized last week during which the resignation of Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta had been called for. This religious and political figure defends himself from going to war. Imam Dicko believes that it is still possible to discuss with the Head of State, provided he can address all subjects without taboo.

For his first speech since the last major rally he initiated , Imam Mahmoud Dicko first wanted to reassure him about his approach:

I am not someone who breaks my country or who sets fire to my country. No ! What breaks a country is above all injustice  ”.

Then, he believes that a dialogue is still possible with Malian President IBK. I want the president to listen to his people. There is still the president. I repeat again that he must listen to the people  ”.

But the influential imam, who has become the backbone of the Malian opposition, then raised his voice.

Everyone is opposed! Community problems, problems in the army, even between religious ... (problems) between everyone ... There is unease in the country, there is poor governance. There is open corruption. I say it and I say it again!  "

Clearly, for him, it is necessary quickly, after having marked out the ground, a meeting between actors of the local political life. Objective: agree on a roadmap to get out of the crisis.

Dissolution of the National Assembly contested by some, dissolution of the Constitutional Court decried by others: no subject will be taboo, adds the religious leader.
