Languedoc should be swept by heavy rain in the next few hours. Météo France placed the Gard, Aveyron and Lozère on orange alert for thunderstorms, rains and risk of floods, this Thursday.

The rains, first expected in Brittany, should move overnight over Languedoc, the south of the Massif Central and Aveyron. Meteo France plans on this territory of "accumulations in 24 hours between 70 and 100 mm to see 120mm locally. On the relief of the Cévennes we expect 150 to 200 mm, even 250mm very punctually over the west of the Gard and the east of the Lozère. "

Hérault in yellow vigilance

A stormy appearance will mix with this precipitation, with possible hail, gusts of wind and strong electrical activity, indicate the services of Météo France.

Hérault, on the other hand, is on the alert yellow, in particular for risks of strong winds. The city of Montpellier, which calls on "citizens to respect safety instructions and to remain vigilant when traveling", announces that parking is prohibited at the Piraeus quay, from this Thursday at 8 p.m., due to the risk overflow of Lez, that parks and gardens will be prohibited from access this Friday, and that low points are likely to be closed to traffic.
