Since May 28, many job seekers can manage their cases completely digitally on the Employment Service's website. This applies to those who will start work or study within 90 days, and the system should relieve the authority's regular customer service.

But it has had a serious flaw. Job seekers who signed up at the same second could get each other's planning on screen. This has happened on 51 occasions and thus a total of more than 100 job seekers have been affected.

For example, a planning may include an invitation to apply for a particular type of job, but not personal information about individuals. On the other hand, it was given to the authority's officers - personal data on job seekers that they were not really entitled to see.

Must be tested

On Monday, the system was stopped, which means that thousands of job seekers are unable to use it right now. On average, it is estimated to comprise between 10 and 12 per cent of job seekers - but the number is increasing in connection with school closures and the degree. At the closure, 2,700 job seekers were inside the system.

- We have now made a notification to the Data Inspectorate because the handlers have access to personal data, says Johan Gabrielsson, acting IT manager. He says that the fault has been identified and fixed and hopes to be able to restart the system tonight or tomorrow.

It is the other similar error in a short time. The first one was reported on May 18, but it only affected a few people.
