Abu Dhabi Police confirmed their interest in increasing community awareness to prevent children from swimming alone in the home ponds.


She stated that awareness and social responsibility are the first line to address drowning accidents, by following safety instructions and guidelines and adhering to advice that urges positive behaviors and behaviors for the safety of all.


She cautioned against indifference and ignoring safety instructions in this regard to protect children from drowning accidents, noting that within a few minutes a drowning accident may occur in case of non-compliance with safety conditions and procedures.


Abu Dhabi Police called on families to place a safe fence around the swimming pools in homes so that children cannot enter on their own and that the floor is non-slip to avoid accidents of drowning


She was advised to wear swimming equipment, provide children with life-saving collars and tools, and lock the doors leading to swimming pools that must be equipped with fixed ladders and metal handles spread over their surroundings.


She said that the causes of children drowning are the result of using the swimming pools on their own, the negligence of the family in monitoring them, the depth of the water and the lack of knowledge of swimming, and exposure to slipping from the floor surrounding the pool.
