Three workers were seriously injured as a result of being run over on this morning, on Al Khail Street in Dubai, before a bridge heading to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, due to a fatal mistake by a bus driver that broke down the road after its tire exploded, according to the director of the Dubai Traffic Department, Brigadier General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei.

Brig. Al-Mazrouei told Emirates Today that the driver sent the workers down the street to get them out of the campus road, which led to them being run over by a car whose driver did not notice them, and they were taken to the hospital to receive treatment for the severe injuries they sustained.

He added: “Immediately upon receiving the report about the accident, which occurred at six this morning, the traffic patrols and those of the competent police station immediately moved to the site of the accident, and the broken bus was dealt with, and the traffic was secured and the ambulances arrived and played their role in the accident.”

Al Mazrouei stressed that one of the most dangerous behaviors that Dubai police have repeatedly warned about is sudden parking in the middle of the road, and more dangerous than that, landing passengers on this road without taking the necessary precautions, noting that “most of the accidents that resulted from parking in the road occurred previously on highways, and he was not able to Drivers coming from behindside pay attention to parking in front of them.

He pointed to the necessity of contacting the police in the event of the vehicle breaking down and its inability to move, until the necessary measures are taken, such as securing the malfunctioning vehicles through the police patrols, and taking the necessary measures to protect their passengers, stressing that Dubai Police respond within a record time to any report.
