This is stated in the message of the department on Facebook.

The press release said that Poroshenko, being the president of Ukraine in 2018, through a “clearly criminal decree, persuaded the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine to exceed his authority and official powers”.

It is noted that a pre-trial investigation into this fact is carried out by investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation.

“At present, the issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention in respect of the suspect is being decided,” the supervisor said.

Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine announced the presentation of suspicions in a criminal case by Poroshenko, without specifying details.

Poroshenko’s lawyer Ilya Novikov said that his client was suspected in the “case of the appointment of the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Semochko.”

According to him, Poroshenko refused to receive suspicion and left the building of the GDB.
