June 10, 2020 He threatened to throw his three children aged 5, 6 and 7 into the void and then temporarily kidnapped the mayor of his town, who intervened together with the police on the spot. But he was eventually arrested. The protagonist of the story was a postman residing in the Milanese district, with psychological and drug problems, who had been notified of a procedure for the revocation of the custody of the children. Children, perhaps drug addicts with psychotropic drugs, would not be life threatening.

According to the reconstruction made by the carabinieri of Corsico (Milan), around 20.30 the man, uttering disconnected sentences, made the children protrude from the balcony of his apartment on the seventh floor of the popular building where he lives with the three minors in Rozzano, a town at the gates of Milan. The police and firefighters arrived on the spot, who tried to put pneumatic inflatable boats on the ground, but he barricaded himself in the house and targeted the people who were underneath with rubble and objects thrown from the window, smearing a fireman. At a certain point the mayor of Rozzano Gianni Ferretti also arrived on the spot and, at the request of the man, he was brought in for a negotiation. Once near the front door, however, he was captured by the postman, who, armed with a knife, seized him by bringing him inside his apartment. In the end it was the mayor himself who resolved the situation: in a moment of distraction by the kidnapper, he managed to move the furniture placed in front of the armored door of the house, to open it, and to let the carabinieri enter, which at that point blocked and disarmed man, saving everyone. The children were taken from 118 to the San Paolo hospital for the suspected intake of psychotropic drugs or other substances.

According to reports, the gesture could be attributable to the fact that just yesterday the father of the children would have learned of the existence of a procedure for the revocation of the exclusive custody of the children, matured precisely because of the serious family distress (the man is being treated at a Sert) which was also known to the social services of the area.

"We avoided a tragedy" said Gianni Ferretti, mayor of Rozzano. The family was followed by social services and the mayor had already met him. "He had exposed his problems to me," explains Ferretti. Yesterday, however, "he was convinced that today the boys would be taken away from him, instead he only had a new interview". Certainly he had drunk a lot, perhaps even more, so much so that he "staggered" and "struggled to speak". Upon his arrival, after 10 pm, the mayor went up to an adjacent balcony and convinced the man to open the door of the apartment where he was barricaded. Then he tried to calm him down. To reassure her eldest daughter, he asked her to prepare a coffee, then sitting in the room, she spoke to her father "We also spoke with his lawyer, in speakerphone, who reassured him, but he was too upset".
