Justice has decided. The procedures of the Nice Côte d'Azur metropolitan area are quite legal, according to the Council of State, and the three private beaches Le Voilier plage, Sporting and Lido plage, on the Promenade des Anglais, will therefore have to change hands.

The three concessionaires, who had been dismissed after a new allocation of these lots by the sea, had seized the administrative court of Nice. The court had decided to censor the procedure, calling into question the jurisdiction of the metropolis, which had replaced the municipality, in the matter.

The transfer of concessions finalized this week

The Council of State invalidated this decision and therefore confirmed the transfer of the concession. This judgment "will allow the opening of the fourteen beaches and three nautical bases of Nice" at a time when communities "are working to revive the economy", responded Lauriano Azinheirinha, director general of services of the metropolis.

"I hope that we do not waste any more time and that the transfer can be finalized this week, so that the new operators can take possession of the premises and prepare for the summer season," explains the manager.

"All employees on permanent contracts will be taken over by the new dealers," he also told Nice-Matin . In the regional daily, the current manager of the beach of the Sailboat says that it may not remain there.
