Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi confirmed that the Israeli government will go ahead with the implementation of a plan to annex lands in the West Bank in full coordination with the United States, indicating that in return it will maintain peace agreements with its neighbors.

Ashkenazi told a news conference with his German counterpart Haikou Maas who is visiting Tel Aviv that the annexation plan will be carried out "in a manner that preserves the existing and future peace agreements and strategic interests of Israel, and we will do so through a full dialogue with our neighbors."

As for the German Foreign Minister, he expressed his country's concern over the implementation of the annexation process, and said that it is not compatible with international law, and that he will continue to support the two-state solution.

Haikou Mas had met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Mas will leave for Jordan, where he will have a video interview with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh.

On the other hand, the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, called for an urgent summit of the League of Arab States to support the Palestinian position rejecting settlement projects and Judaization in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.

In a letter to the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Haniyeh called for the provision of a political, economic and media safety net to protect the Palestinian national project.

He also stressed the need to take a united and serious Arab position that rejects normalization with the occupation, criminalizes Israeli plans, and protects Islamic and Christian sanctities in Palestine.
