HIF recently awaited Helsingborg municipality and asked for help with an expected loss this year of at least SEK 17 million. A large part of the sum is about lost revenue in the traces of the coronapamdemin - not least from audiences and sponsors.

Now the ruling politicians announce that support will come. HIF receives a rental discount worth SEK 6.4 million. The club is exempt from the part of the rent for Olympia that applies to football. However, the club has to pay SEK 1.6 million for the office space in the arena and for operating costs. But that part does not have to be paid until the end of the year.

"Extraordinary events require extraordinary efforts by the municipality," says Maria Winberg Nordström (FP).

All associations receive support

At the same time, financial support is also promised to the other associations in Helsingborg. This autumn it will be launched and at this time it is unclear how expensive this package will be for the municipality and how the money will be distributed.

- Association life is important for the citizens of Helsingborg and we want to give everyone help. How can I not say today, but so much is clear that the support should be designed so that the societies that have saved money should not be penalized for taking responsibility for the economy, says Maria Winberg Nordström.

But what that means in practice remains to be seen when the support package is complete.
