China News Agency, Berlin, June 10 (Reporter Peng Dawei) German Interior Minister Zehofer announced on the 10th that as Germany lifted border control this month, it plans to accept about 400 refugees, including minor refugees and family members stranded in Greece. And refugees who have been rescued from the Mediterranean and are currently located in Italy and Malta. This will be the first batch of refugees resumed after Germany "unblocked".

According to a German television report, Zehofer made the above statement after the German Federal Cabinet meeting that day. Zehofer has previously announced that Germany will cancel the implementation of border control measures for nearly three months on June 15.

Among them, 249 children and their families in Greece will be allowed to travel to Germany. Zehofer said that these children cannot be unaccompanied, so they should not be taken to Germany without sisters or parents. A spokesman for the German Ministry of the Interior said that many children were under six years old, and some of them had illnesses and were in urgent need of hospitalization.

This group of minor refugees is part of the 350 refugee camps on the Greek islands that the German government promised to accept in March this year. Previously, the first flight arranged by the German government in mid-April carried 47 children and young refugees to Germany. Later, due to the impact of the new crown epidemic, Germany suspended the plan.

Zehofer said that Germany also agreed to receive 80 refugees rescued from the Mediterranean from Italy and Malta, a total of 160 people. The above two refugees are expected to travel to Germany from the end of June to July.

Since the new crown epidemic, the number of newly arrived refugees has dropped sharply due to the land border control in Germany. Zehofer said that the average number of asylum-seekers newly arriving in Germany is currently only about 100 a day.

The number of newly diagnosed infection cases in Germany has remained below 500 for consecutive days. According to the German "Time Online" report, as of 20 o'clock local time on the 10th, Germany accumulatively diagnosed 187254 people, cured 170671 people, and died 8917 people. (Finish)
