Cairo University professor of political science, Dr. Hassan Nafaa, announced that he will stop Twitter on his Twitter account, for fear of being arrested again.

In his last tweet, Nafaa said, "The climate is no longer suitable for participating freely in public debate, so I decided to temporarily freeze this site."

And he added, "The reason is due to a statement made by one of the attorneys today to the Public Prosecutor and in which he repeated the same accusations that he had made in a previous communication, which caused my arrest and imprisonment and prevented me from disposing of my money."

The climate was not suitable for participating freely in the public debate, and therefore I decided to temporarily freeze this site. As for the reason, it is due to a statement made by one of the lawyers today to the Public Prosecutor, and he repeated the same accusations that he had made in a previous communication that caused my arrest and imprisonment and prevented me from disposing of my money. So I apologize to everyone who follows me

Lawyer Tariq Mahmoud submitted several reports to the Attorney General, accusing Hassan Nafaa of deliberately spreading false news, questioning the capabilities of the Egyptian state, receiving suspicious funds and misusing social media.

Mahmoud stated in his communication that Hassan Nafaa, who had previously filed against him in several communications accusing him of participating with a terrorist group to achieve its criminal aims, which is the "terrorist" Brotherhood, did not change his approach.

In his communication, he explained that Nafia - who was released a short time ago - is still practicing his hostile policies against the Egyptian state and its institutions through the statements he makes through his official page on social networking sites in which he deliberately questions the capabilities of the Egyptian state.

On March 20, the Egyptian authorities decided to release 15 political activists, including Hassan Nafaa, and the Supreme State Security Prosecution did not explain the reason for their release, but the decision came after many calls to reduce prison overcrowding as a precaution against the emerging Corona virus.

Egyptian security forces arrested Nafia on September 24, 2019, as part of a widespread arrest campaign that included some opponents of the civil forces, against the backdrop of rare protests that were called by the artist and former army contractor Mohamed Ali.
