Last week, the US and Louisiana were swapped for Sweden and Uppsala for Armand Duplantis.
Stavhoppstar will have Uppsala as his hometown and home base with his mother and coach, Helena, and her little sister.
A great advantage in these corona times is the training opportunities.
- Here in Uppsala I have the best conditions. It had a big part in the decision, Mondo says, and continues:
- Since the first time I came to Uppsala, it felt like I had a connection to the city and that it was a city where I could think of living in. It's hard to describe the feeling but it feels right and like this was the right place to be.
Something that also makes it easier for Mondo is that the city of Louisiana, Lafayette and Uppsala, are similar to each other.
- The city I grew up in is a bit like Uppsala. It is not the biggest city but it has character, I think Uppsala has that too. Then this is a university town and so is Lafayette.
