The driver of the car which mowed a pedestrian Sunday in Nantes was referred to the Nantes courthouse on Tuesday, according to Ouest-France of that day. The individual, 39 years old and living in the Lamoricière district of Nantes, was indicted for driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of a category C weapon, found at his home during a search. The man was placed in pre-trial detention.

The suspect was arrested at his home on Sunday afternoon by the police. He said the police "did not know what happened" or "why he had blood on his hands," according to local media. His car had been seized.

They would have spent the evening together

As a reminder, a pedestrian, aged thirty, had been struck at 2:30 a.m. on the night of Saturday to Sunday, on a protected passage, Bas-Chantenay district in Nantes. He died shortly after help arrived.

The investigation will have to determine exactly what happened, but according to local press, the two men spent the evening together. They would have drunk a lot and had a sentimental confusion.
