“As for pressure on the investigation, this is unacceptable. Let's ask the Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption to take this issue under control. The law is one for everyone - drunken riding is unacceptable, ”RIA Novosti quoted Volodin as saying.

He recalled that a year ago, deputies adopted amendments to the Criminal Code, toughening the punishment for "drunk" accident. So, now in the event of the death of one person, the term of imprisonment can be from five to 12 years, and in the case of the death of two or more persons - up to 15 years.

Earlier, the Moscow prosecutor’s office took control of the investigation.

The accident occurred on the evening of June 8 at Smolenskaya Square. Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was driven by Efremov, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Lada van. An examination showed that the artist was drunk at the time of the accident. The injured Lada driver died in the hospital.
