“The report is part of the college’s strategy in the short and long term to support the UAE’s efforts to overcome the Corona pandemic,” said Dr. Ali bin Sabaa Al-Marri, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government Administration. Where the college possesses cadres with extensive experience that can provide the government and the public sector with practical and quick solutions to overcome this epidemic.

He added: «Through the in-depth research that we conducted to draft this report, we were able to obtain a wealth of ideas on the best practices that the government and the health sectors should consider implementing now and in the future in order to cross this crisis and move to the post-Corona stage. The college also seeks to make tangible contributions alongside all government departments and affiliated bodies in order to enhance the UAE's readiness to face any similar future emergencies. ”

Among the most important milestones in the report is the date March 11, 2020, in which the World Health Organization declared that the outbreak of the Corona virus is a pandemic that hit the world, which raised the level of alert and the level of threat and warned the international community against the rapid spread and long-term continuity. The report, which focuses on the UAE, shows that the first case of the virus was confirmed on January 29, 2020.

It is reported that since then, the number of cases has increased dramatically, as 11,929 cases were confirmed by the end of April, while the number of deaths due to the disease has reached 98 people. The report also revealed that the UAE has conducted more than 1.1 million tests for the Corona virus between UAE citizens and residents over the past two months, in line with the Ministry of Health and Community Protection plans to intensify tests to contain the spread of the virus.

The report also addresses the main policies, laws and regulations adopted by the UAE, which were announced to implement immediately to reduce the spread of the virus, reassure all members of society, and ensure that society’s needs are still being met, especially in relation to food and medicine.
