Tagansky District Court issued a preventive measure to Mikhail Efremov in the form of house arrest until August 9. A criminal case has been instituted against the actor under Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of Russia (“Violation of the rules of the road and the operation of vehicles”). He faces up to 12 years in prison. On June 8, Mikhail Efremov drove into the oncoming lane on Smolenskaya Square and collided with a Lada van, whose driver later died in the hospital. At the time of the accident, the Honored Artist of Russia was in a state of intoxication, and 2.1 ppm of alcohol was found in his blood.
