- The situation has been calm in Gottsunda, says Daniel Winge, regional commanding officer at the police region Mid early on Tuesday morning.

As we have been told, there were two groups on Bandstolsvägen in Uppsalastadsdel Valsätra at 18 o'clock on Monday evening, which seemed to want to fight with each other. On Sunday evening there was a major noise in the district and on Monday evening the police chose to step in and try to break up with the help of a number of police patrols. The police also took city buses to the area and took care of them and drove off with people from the different groups.

So the tactics of busing people away seem to have worked?

- Yes, that measure got the effect we wanted, so it was good.

During the late evening and night, the police had a "high" presence in Gottsunda / Valsätra.

- I can't go into any numeric for polytactic reasons. But they have worked preventively and that has resulted in a calm, says police officer Daniel Winge.
