On the evening of June 8, the Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Efremov, drove into the oncoming lane on Smolenskaya Square and collided with a Lada van.
The driver of Lada was injured in the accident, he was hospitalized, he later died in the hospital. Efremov was detained, a criminal case was instituted against him under Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of Russia (“Violation of the rules of the road and the operation of vehicles”). An examination established that he was drunk at the time of the accident.
