Bennet's wallaby was collected by Planète sauvage park. - Wild planet

He had been wandering for several days in the north of Loire-Atlantique. A Bennet wallaby was captured late last week by firefighters in the town of Guéméné-Penfao, near Blain, while he was enjoying vegetables in a vegetable patch.

The marsupial, which weighs around twenty kilos and is in good health, has been entrusted to the specialist wildlife teams of Planète sauvage Park and placed in quarantine at the infirmary.

An identical case at the end of April

The animal has no markings and probably belonged to an individual. The gendarmes are trying to find its owner. If the latter is not identified, the wallaby will be integrated into the group of wallabys of Planète sauvage

At the end of April, a wandering Parma wallaby had already been recovered in Loire-Atlantique, near Saint-Nazaire. It had also been entrusted to the Port-Saint-Père animal park and will soon be joined by two congeners entrusted by the European coordinator of this species "considered to be almost threatened in its natural habitat".
