His murder had traumatized the entire commune of Sallaumines (Pas-de-Calais). On January 30, 2020, Laura Bernard, a 16-year-old girl, was stabbed to death after leaving high school by an unknown person.

More than four months after the facts, a man was arrested, charged and imprisoned as revealed on Monday morning Thierry Dran, prosecutor of the republic of Bethune during a press conference.

Already convicted of murder in 2007

The 36-year-old suspect is named Ferdinand Aouri. Originally from the region, he had already been sentenced in 2007 to 15 years in prison for murder by the Pas-de-Calais assize court.

As France 3 Hauts -de-France tells us , the 30-year-old, who was released from prison in April 2019, was denounced by his family. "Two people around him have reported that Ferdinand had returned Aouri one night covered in blood They heard that he had planted a girl" , said the prosecutor of Bethune. The suspect's DNA was thus found on the victim's glasses.

Incarcerated since February 23 in another case, Ferdinand Aouri was brought before a judge on June 5. Charged for murder in legal recidivism, he denies the facts and refuses to explain himself.
