“NATO does not see China as a new enemy or adversary. However, we see that China’s growth (influence) is changing the global balance of power, ”TASS quoted Stoltenberg as saying.

He noted that the leaders of NATO countries during a meeting in December in London "for the first time in the history of the alliance agreed that NATO will have to respond to the security consequences of China's growing influence."

Stoltenberg said earlier that NATO is preparing a plan to help alliance members, as well as its partners, in the event of a second wave of the coronavirus epidemic.
