When the virus broke out and recommendations went out that children who had mild colds should be kept at home, the absence was high at many schools in the county. But after a couple of weeks, most children came back again. But in more than half of the county's municipalities, some single children have been allowed to stay at home.
Värnamo, Jönköping, Vetlanda, Gislaved, Eksjö, Sävsjö and Mullsjö municipalities state for SVT that they have one or some children who have not been to school during the pandemic.
- Some have said that the children have asthma. We have demanded medical certificates, but we have not received them, says Hamid Zafar, head of children's and education in the municipality of Mullsjö.
