08 June 2020 "What we are trying to do is choose a regional approach. I don't want to anticipate it but I believe that halfway through this week, together with the Minister of Health (Anschober), we can take a significant step towards freedom of travel and therefore announce it ".

Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg (OeVP) said this during the 'Milborn' broadcast on Puls4 on the forthcoming free movement of people through Austria and Italy. The most likely date for reopening is Monday 15th June.

"We all hope to reach full travel freedom very quickly but if we take these steps we must be able to rely on facts and figures", added Schallenberg who underlined the constant contact with the Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio.
