Argentina: 403 journalists on file under the presidency of Mauricio Macri

In Argentina, according to the management of the federal intelligence agency, more than 400 journalists have been registered as well as a hundred figures from civil society, under the chairmanship of Mauricio Macri. This system, set up in particular at G20 and WTO summits, the World Trade Organization, would have made it possible to decide who could benefit from accreditation during these meetings. The list includes dozens of journalists from foreign media.

This is a case that could tarnish a little more the image of Mauricio Macri . Because the former Argentinian president had already been accused of illegal espionage when he was mayor of Buenos Aires. A file which had been closed without follow-up after his arrival at the presidency in December 2015.

According to the new management of the Federal Intelligence Agency, three envelopes "2017", "G20 journalists" or "miscellaneous" have been found in a safe. Inside these envelopes, cards with indications of different colors, information collected on multiple supports and annotations of the type “  Always take sides against the government  ”. A total of 403 journalists would be concerned, but also a hundred academics, entrepreneurs and members of civil society.

A complaint was lodged last Friday June 5 by Cristina Caamaño, charged by the new president Alberto Fernandez to conduct an audit of the Federal Intelligence Agency. This Monday, she must bring the evidence to justice. In total, four officials are targeted, including the former head of state as a personality "  responsible for determining the strategic objectives of the national intelligence policy  ".
